MORSE CREEK HOUSE
The dramatic presence of the Olympic Mountains
and surrounding forests is the source of two languages—one
of stone and one of wood—which articulate the house's
form, materials and detail. The nature of stone inspires two
gray-green stucco masses that emerge from the site's ancient
bed of glacial moraine. These thick-walled monoliths mediate
a group of large boulders near the site's entry and the mountains
beyond.
